Each dress makes a statement but they all have some traits that they share. Whether they are picked out by stylists or by themselves, each dress has captured the attention of the cameras and media. The dress style and color are unique. Who wears them is different. But each dress does have a few things in common.

The first trait is that they emphasis rather than detract from the body frames of the people who wear them. They conform to the body and flow in a long line from top to bottom. The natural flow around the body is what each dress has in common. Along with flow, they are also in the proper proportions with the body. Even a short dress achieves this stunning effect.

Another trait is the color. The colors of each of these dresses may be different but the color itself serves to compliment the wearer. From the flashy reds to the more classy black, the color is the right shade for the star. It lends an air of sophistication as they walk down the aisle.

Changing Trends In Fashion

Content

What is fashion? It is nothing but dress and style codes which people follow because they are a part of what is called society and hence should follow some norms set by society. A person’s success or otherwise in interacting better with people and networking better with society at large depends to a large extent on the dress and fashion code that he or she follows.
Dress and fashion is different in different parts of the world and it decided by the culture, religion, climate and other influencing factors. Wearing a hot dress in a sub-Saharan place would be considered ridiculous to say the least. The same way wearing a three piece suit and trying to win over friends in a remote village in India may not exactly work. So fashion should not only be limited to a dressing code which is relevant to a person’s place of birth and upbringing but should also be one that finds acceptance when he or she visits a different place.

While dressing for an occasion the fashion should be such that it suits the mood of the occasion. Going to attend a funeral in colorful and gaudy dress material would be considered very appropriate as would be going to a conference with a casual jeans and T-shirts.

One more thing that has to be considered is that fashion is not all about the dresses that we wear to cover our nakedness. It also includes the accessories which we use while dressing ourselves like the bags we carry, the shoes we wear, the ear rings and necklaces we wear, the style of our hair makeup and many other things.

So fashion in fine should be contemporary without looking gaudy and out of place. We should learn to dress ourselves to suit the occasion. It takes time and effort to know more about dressing properly for the occasion.

Every woman owns a silk dress in her collection. Without a silk dress, a collection is incomplete. Silk was once considered to be the dress of the Uber rich and highly powerful. Only people of the royal blood used to wear this cloth. One reason for this was the unavailability of silk cloth. Another reason for this was the fact that silk was very difficult to care for and still is. Every silk dress comes with a tag that says “Dry Clean Only”. Silk is a delicate fabric that is made by the excretion of silk worms. Hence even dry cleaning is bad for silk dresses.

Silk is not handled like any other cloth. There are all the other dresses and then there is silk. Hence you will have to impart special importance to silk. Silk cannot be washed with other clothes, since tougher clothes can rub against the delicate silk and cause irreparable damage. If not the other clothes, then there are harmful chemicals and the hard metal surface of the washing machine. Just follow these few special tricks for that delicate silk. Before washing your silk dress, do a test on a small spot with the detergent you are going to use. The detergent might cause the color of the dress to bleed. Silk unlike other clothes does not require being soaked. Soaking will cause the silk to lose its structure and the shape of the dress will be forever lost. If you find stains on your silk dress, you can use hydrogen peroxide to remove the stain. Bleaching is not an option with silk. It will ruin the dress. If you find any hard stains, then you can use ammonia to remove them. In case of yellowing, you can use vinegar to get back the glow of your dress. There are many chemicals available in the market that help you in talking care of your expensive silk dress which you hardly wear.

Clothing you wear is the most striking feature of humans which distinguish each individual in a society. It shows your culture and tradition as well as the fashion you own. So the clothes you use should be well cleaned and hygienic. There are four factors in the clothing comfort often referred to as the four F’s of comfort. First F is the fashion, second F is the feel, third F is fit and fourth one is function. Clothing is appropriate for the gender discrimination. It sometimes refers to the social status as well.

Clothes should be maintained well and a lot of steps are adopted to clean and maintain so that it will be good for long use and stay new for a much longer time. The method used is laundry, ironing and storage. Clothes can get damaged from inside and outside. Humans sheds body cells and body oils which the clothes absorb and begin deteriorating. From outside it damages due to heat, dirt and moisture. Even fleas and lice can hide in seams of clothes. This can create allergies and rashes in our body. Thus maintaining clothes becomes necessary as it is a part of health too. Clothes are washed using cleansing agents which clears the bacteria in the dress caused by pollution, sweat and body oils. They are then ironed so that when heat is transferred to clothes the bacteria die and finally it looks fresh, clean and neat again. After the cleaning process the clothes are usually hanged in hangers or folded in a specified manner to keep them fresh till next time you wear and to avoid creases. Recycling is also another maintenance method in which you can use your old clothes in to other items which can be used for other household works. Thus the maintaining process of clothes remains unchanged because everybody needs a healthy and hygienic body and the old method is the best method to do it.

We use clothes to cover ourselves form external factors which might cause injuries or harm and also from other natural phenomena like heat, rain, cold, etc. The clothes we use depend on the climate and the season. We use woolen clothes in winter, cotton clothes in summer and thus the need of different types of clothes increases. Clothing is of many types and these are collectively called as textiles. Although now the different types of fabrics have increased tenfold, the historic woolen, cotton and silk are the ones that are still most widely used.

Textiles can be made from many materials and these materials come from four main sources. The sources are plants, animals, minerals and synthetic. Woolen clothes come from natural sources such as the sheep’s fur. The silk we use is made from the silk worms which are an insect. Likewise the cotton material we use comes from plants. The source of flax and jute materials is also the plants. The nylon material, polyester comes from the synthetic types. Thus the clothing type differs and these different types are used in different seasons to wear. The cost of clothing depends upon how there are made and the dyes used in the dress. For example, a silk dress costs more than a cotton one because the weaving process is done to make silk which is harder maintain and the dyes used are of high price. So managing these clothing also needs much care. The silk and woolen types of clothing should not be washed in water but it should be dried under the sun and a dry-cleaning method can be used. Some clothes should wash separately because there is a chance that the color of the dress might come out and get mixed in water. The washing powder we use should not contain any chemical agent which harms the dresses and its charm. Thus clothes can be maintained effectively and seasonal too.
